The word “Awesome” comes to mind when I try to describe the success of our Summer this year! German did an excellent job in preparing and organizing the crusades and it was obvious that the pastors had prepared their people. Ronnie Hill-Jinotega, Dwain Miller-Chichigalpa, and Paul White-Nagarote together produced almost 6,000 professions of faith. God is on the move in Nicaragua! A small team from Lifesong BC in VA had a huge impact in the Leon region with over 270 professions of faith and first time Highlands BC from New Iberia, LA did an awesome job as they brought a large team and reached almost 700 people in street fiestas. Highlands Fellowship saw over 300 POF in there time with us and had an awesome conference with Bethel Church! All in All in June and July we saw over 7,000 POF, fed around 6,400 meals to needy families, teams, preached 45 times, held 11 conferences, did 63 fiestas, spoke in 11 schools, held 2 VBS, and spoke on the radio and TV 10 times. What an awesome Summer! We could not have accomplished it all without our exceptional translators, fine staff, and interns.
We are in the process of moving to a new facility and planning for the future as God expands the work of this Ministry! In the coming months we plan to plant a new Church at what we affectionately call the “Sewer Ponds” (one of the poorest neighborhoods in all of Leon) and just last week our Ministry was asked by the mayor of Postalatega to plant a Church in a new neighborhood in their city where 741 of the poorest families in the region will be moved to. Already some 236 families have relocated to the area and there are only going to be 2 churches allowed to start in the neighborhood. One is a church planted by a longtime friend of the mayor and the other by our ministry, because the mayor says that there is no other Ministry like VOH in all of Nicaragua! What a compliment that even a secular mayor can see the difference in what we do! Our calendar is filling for 2012 already, but we would love to have you and your church join us in what God is doing in Nicaragua! Because of the growth of Ministry, team sizes, and opportunities for Voice of Hope we will be moving into a new location in the City of Leon! The old Berlin Hotel has been rented by Voice of Hope for the next year as VOH prepares to build a new facility to house teams. ‘It is an awesome opportunity for our ministry to have the facilities of the Berlin Hotel as our own team house, offices, and conference center. It will expand every area of ministry we have with the expanded facilities,” claimed German Alvarado, Nicaraguan Director of ministries for VOH.
